This is a guided storytelling workshop for people trying to find, begin, or reconnect with the story they want to tell.

A 90 minute storytelling workshop with writer-director Cynthia Garcia Williams, LALIFF Inclusion Fellow. 

FOR THE PEOPLE TRYING TO FIND THE STORY.

AND THE ONES TRYING TO FINALLY TELL IT.

whether your story becomes:

  • a film 
  • a series 
  • a memoir 
  • a book 

Or something you don’t have words for. This workshop is designed to help you listen for it.

Together, we’ll explore four places stories often come from:

  • Memory 
  • Wound 
  • Wonder 
  • Inheritance 

Through guided reflection, writing prompts, and witnessing


Participants will leave with:

  • A clearer sense of the story pulling at them 
  • A written scene, memory, or beginning 
  • Tools for finding stories through memory, wonder, wound, and inheritance 
  • A simple daily writing practice that feels sustainable 
  • A collectible CYNRG story zine to continue the work afterward

FOUNDING COHORT

The first group to enter this workshop will help shape what it becomes.

Because of that, the Founding Cohort includes:

  • Printed CYNRG story zine mailed to you 
  • Discounted access to future workshops
  • Small groups of 15 to protect the intimacy of the room.
  • Priority access to future workshops

ABOUT CYNTHIA

Cynthia García Williams is a Cuban-Mexican-American writer, director, and founder of CYNRG Entertainment. Before filmmaking, Cynthia spent 15 years working in peer support and family systems, experience that deeply shapes the emotional and human-centered approach of her storytelling workshops.She is a LALIFF Inclusion 

IMPORTANT

This workshop is built on presence, listening, and community.
Please plan to join with your camera on.

No writing experience is required.

You do not need to arrive with a finished idea.
You only need to arrive willing to listen.

FAQ

Do I need writing experience?

No. This workshop is for both beginners and working writers.

Is this only for screenwriters?

No. The workshop is open to anyone exploring story, including 

film,  television, memoir, fiction, and personal storytelling.

Will I have to share my writing?

No. Sharing is always optional.

Will the workshop be recorded?

No. To protect the intimacy of the room, recordings will not be provided.

What should I bring?

A notebook, something to write with, and a quiet space where you can be present.

FINAL NOTE

The story doesn’t need perfection. It needs contact.
